The Story
Helping dogs and their people, professionally, for 30 years
I am a professional dog trainer and canine behavior consultant serving Austin and the surrounding Hill Country. Over the past 30 years I have worked professionally with more than 20,000 dogs and their owners across the country and worldwide.
I specialize in puppy training and real world obedience, and I take on the cases other trainers have given up on, canine aggression, separation anxiety, leash pulling, phobias, and other hard to correct behaviors. My approach is balanced. Structure and leadership first, not bribery with treats.
I hold a Comparative Psychology degree from the State University of New York and I am a graduate of The Academy of K9 Education. The science of how dogs learn is not a slogan, it is the foundation everything I do is built on.
I host The Untrainables on Facebook Watch and The Dog Savant Podcast. I have been featured on National Geographic and the Hallmark Channel for my distinctive training approach.
I am usually the third trainer the family calls. By that point the positive only methods have already failed and the dog is worse, not better. That is where my work actually starts.
I am bringing The Dog Savant to Austin with my Rottweiler Booey. He is the daily reminder that great dogs are not born, they are trained.
